| Pleasure principle shows a suburban garden on a summer's day. The footage has been altered to give a mirrored image, showing the continual division and partition of the natural forms. The soundtrack is composed partly of birdsong, slowed down so that the bird calls are unfamiliar, their deep echoes implying larger, more threatening creatures, and partly the sound of breathless panting. Pleasure principle was made for a group show, Wild, Wicked and Wanton at Arthouse, Deptford as part of Deptford X. |
